Pool Proof
Harmonize Your Pool and Save Money

PoolProofMaintaining the water in a swimming pool has always been a delicate balancing act which few want to tackle. Factors such as water temperature, hours of sunlight, air temperature, pool size, all the chemicals required to prevent algae, balance Ph, clarify water, balance hardness, number of swimmers and much more must be considered.

GGA Pest Management now has a product, PoolProof®, which will make your pool maintenance much easier, faster and save money.  One application is all that is needed with annual checking after that.

SwimmingPoolPoolProof is a borate product has many benefits that are truly amazing.  Borates are natural mineral salts that are mined from the earth.  They are used in soaps, cosmetics and many of the foods we eat.  PoolProof is a better borate pool product than others on the market because it is a liquid that dissolves fast in the water.

PoolProof is already pH adjusted so there is no need to add large amounts of acid to bring the pool into balance.

5 benefits to adding PoolProof to your swimming pool:

Clarity and Sparkle

After PoolProof is added to the water, it dissolves instantly and changes the refractive index of the water resulting in light passing through the water and giving it a “crystal clear” sparkle. This subtle difference makes your pool look brilliant instead of just clean.

pH balance

The pH of swimming pool water can be affected by a number of factors, including geography, temperature, and biological loading.  Swings in pH can require the constant adding of chemicals to bring the pH into balance.  When PoolProof is added to water, it acts as a buffer solution which resists changes in pH when small quantities of an acid or an alkali are added to it.  Since the pH change in pools is not dramatic, PoolProof can remove hydrogen ions or hydroxide ions that are introduced into the water that cause the pH to change.  It also reduces the eye irritation caused by hypoclorous acid formed by chlorine and reduces lime scale and corrosion.

Reduces pump time

Adding PoolProof to your pool or spa will allow you to reduce the amount of time your pump is running.  Because your water is harmonized there is less need for filtering.  Some users have reported pump reduction times of 30% to 60%.  The less time your pump runs means more money in your pocket from reduced electrical usage and less wear and tear on your pump.

Extends the life of chemicals

Sunlight tends to flash off many of the algaecides and sanitizers that are added to pools.  PoolProof reduces this chemical reaction thus allowing chemicals to last longer in your pool or spa.  Less chemicals added means more savings to you!

Water is smooth and silky

When added to the water, the borate rejuvenates the layers of dry skin on your body and creates a smooth lotion feel on your skin.  Your skin will not feel dried out after leaving the water but will have a silky smooth feel.

Frequently Asked Questions

What will PoolProof do to my pool?

Pool Proof will act as a pH buffer and extend the life of pool chemicals.  It makes the water look clearer and gives it a brilliant sparkle, as well as make the whole system work efficiently and properly.

Will this material affect my pool liner if it is a cement or masonry liner or is a fiberglass pool?

No. PoolProof is anti-corrosive and will normally help reduce corrosion stains.  By buffering the pool correctly, it will also reduce the acid and alkali degradation and make pools last longer.

Will it work with chlorine and other non-chlorine products?

It will work with all pool chemicals.

Can PoolProof be used in saltwater pools?

Yes. PoolProof helps buffer the pool and extends the life of the chlorine.  Since saltwater pool pumps have to run a lot to make chlorine, that is burnt off rapidly by the sunlight, you will not have to run the pump as much thus saving energy, lowering salt and less corrosion.

How fast will the change take place in the pool after an application of PoolProof?

This depends on the size of the pool.  Normally, the change will happen within an hour or so, but always in the same day.

Is PoolProof safe?

PoolProof has a LD50 value of about 5000 mg per kg of body weight making it a bit less toxic than table salt.  It is not an eye irritant and has not been shown to cause permanent eye damage like some other products.

Can we swim right after applying PoolProof?

Yes. This is a benefit of PoolProof, but be sure and be aware the label requirements of other pool products and follow them.

What needs to be done to the pool before adding PoolProof?

Visually inspect your pool.  Is your pump and filter working properly?  Is the water relatively clean and the pool operational and visibly safe?  It is recommended that you check the ph, stabilizer and free chlorine with test strips to make sure they are within in the recommended operational levels.

Does PoolProof work on commercial pools as well as on outdoor pools?

Yes. PoolProof is a registered trademark of the Nisus Corporation.
